Getting (Back) On Track In School
This summer we expanded our second year Summer Credit Recovery programs at New Design High School and The Heritage School, helping over 90% of our participating students acquire enough credits to put them back on academic track. Though arts integration classes that apply art forms like photography, poetry, music production and design to English Language Arts, Social Studies and Mathematics courses, students in danger of falling behind academically were provided an alternative to the traditional summer school model. Urban Arts Partnership was also proud to serve The Facing History School this summer in support of their Bridge Program for incoming freshmen. Through study field trips, teambuilding exercises, and arts-based projects, students were introduced to the school’s unique, sequential social justice curricula that guides each student’s academic career through four years of study.
