On Saturday, August 20th, Urban Arts Partnership MediaLab filmmakers accompanied their documentary short TypeCast to The New York International Latino Film Festival, presented by HBO.

This year marks the first time a MediaLab film has been chosen as an official selection of the festival, which ran this year from August 15th-21st in venues across the city. Since its inception in 1999, the festival’s mission has been to “showcase the works of the hottest emerging Latino filmmaking talent in the U.S. and Latin America, offer expansive images of the Latino experience, and celebrate the diversity and spirit of the Latino community.”

TypeCast, produced during the Summer 2010 MediaLab session, shares the stories of two young artists living with diabetes and the relationship between identity, health, class and access.

Congratulations to the MediaLab team on this achievement!
