Monique Schubert, Teaching Artist

Monique Schubert is an artist and an educator with an eclectic teaching practice. She has worked as a Teaching Artist in NYC for over 10 years and has been with Urban Arts Partnership since 2005. Monique creates and delivers innovative, imaginative and adaptable curricula to enrich academic courses with visual arts education, and offers studio classes that engage students in intensive inquiry and art-making activities. She has worked at The Facing History School in midtown Manhattan for several years leading both studio and integration classes, and has also taken a leadership role in the annual Choosing to Participate culminating project for seniors.

In addition to a full teaching schedule, Monique is a visual artist who has shown work at Aljira Center for the Arts, RUSH Arts Gallery, Lyons Weir Gallery, the Studio Museum in Harlem and the Museum of Contemporary Diasporan Arts.
