Educator Profile

Sheena Minott

As a graduate of Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of the Arts, Sheena understands first-hand the power of the arts as a vital source of youth development. She earned a BA in English with a Minor in Music from Brooklyn College, exploring arts integration and the intersection between music and literature during the Harlem Renaissance. She brings over 15 years of arts administration and youth development to the table, with positions as diverse as serving as Assistant Manager of Visitor Services at the Brooklyn Museum to introducing the wilderness to special needs campers at the Fresh Air Fund’s sleep away camp. Her most recent role prior to joining the staff at Urban Arts Partnership was Program Director of the Brooklyn College Arts Lab, a dedicated arts space for youth located on the Brooklyn College Campus. Her commitment to addressing the socio-emotional needs of the students she serves directly informed her decision to earn her Masters in Social Work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College in 2014. Sheena continues to perform throughout New York City and is thrilled to have the unique opportunity to work as a Social Worker with Urban Arts Partnership.
