This Week: UAP Students at New York Fashion Week

Three Urban Arts Partnership students braved the blizzard to sit in the front row of their first New York Fashion Week presentation! They were invited by designer Yuna Yang, who met them and their classmates when she led a fashion illustration workshop at the Urban Arts offices. In the workshop, Yuna discussed inspiration and theme with the students before demonstrating a pencil and watercolor sketch. The class then used a inspirational item or image that they were asked to bring to sketch their own original piece.

Anthony, Nicolle, and Anissa learned how a theme (in this case, Italian romance) is expressed through all the elements of the show, from the music to the models’ hairstyles to the programs. We want to send a huge thank you to Yuna and her team for making it possible for us to attend, and congratulations on a gorgeous spring collection!

Yuna Yang also supports Urban Arts Partnership by donating a portion of the sales of her shoe collection for Project Canvas! Click here to shop these limited edition designs.
